The Drummer and the Vesper
The vesper is played every evening at 8 pm three times, to three different directions: for the President, for the town and for the sea.
A few minutes before 8 o'clock, Trumputtaja, the Drummer, arrives in the corner of Kaivohuone and starts drumming the old score dating back to the 19th century.
The words and the text heard along with the drumming is old finnish and date back over a hundred years. With the drumming the peoplequiet down to listen to the evening vespers.
